CP Blog Entry #11 What ideas have you formulated to "Pay Forward" your Change Project?

To "Pay Forward" my change project, I have had many ideas such as implementing this idea to my grade level, my school, and county wide.  On the other hand, I have had some struggles with this project so my initial thoughts have "changed."  As for now, I plan to "pay forward" my project in my own classroom for at least one more year.  My class this year has been very challenging which makes implementing anything new that much harder.  Next year, I plan to have the MFAS assessments ready to use and will feel more confident when using them.  I will start from the beginning of the year and implement them along with using small group for my math instruction.  I hope that having a more consistent and manageable class will make this project even more of a success.  I am making progress but it is very slow and it was not off to a great start  My lead teacher has been a huge help with this project along with the CAPE 3 cohort.  :)

  1. Amy,
It's totally understandable that you want another year of implementation with your Change Project before "Paying It Forward." Your ability to see and acknowledge that a challenging year has made implementation harder is a testament to your professionalism.

  2. Your perseverance to continue your change project with a challenging class is motivating. It is difficult to begin a new program and be comfortable with it, even with a manageable group of students. I hope you will have the opportunity to fine tune you project next year!

  3. Working through your project this year has been fruitful and now you have all the more tools to add to your curriculum toolbox. Paying forward to your team and other teachers in the district will be huge! I am hoping you will include some of your assessment pieces on your website too. You are providing a great foundation for your students they may not have had an opportunity to be part of without taking on this Change Project.

  4. I understand the "refining" before expanding. I am at that point also. However, I still am hopeful to use at least some of your assessments in my own room.
